Ordering Information

JH 2.9.14

As much as we'd like to tell you that we have a staff of customer service representatives standing by to serve you and an 800 number for you to call... we don't.   Zarwerks is run in the spare time of two dedicated VW enthusiasts (each of whom have restored several early VWs themselves) and this site is a "portal" for them to offer their skills, parts and services to the VW hobbyist.  This site will give you all the details you should need about our products and services, and this ordering info page is set up to answer any and all questions that you might have..

Q. What is Zarwerks?  Where is Zarwerks?  Is it a store I can visit?

A. At present, Zarwerks business is conducted entirely via the web.  It actually "exists" in two locations in the US, in the homes of two very avid enthusiasts.  So there is no "store".  This business is run entirely via this website.

Q. How do I order parts from Zarwerks?

A. Our pages have e-mail links set up to allow you to inquire about a part, or to buy a part.  To order a part, simply click on the "Buy" link next to that part, and if your browser is linked to your e-mail application, a "mailto:" window will open up, with a subject line already filled in.  It will also be pre-addressed to the person who can provide you that part.

When ordering a part, please specify in your e-mail message:

  • Your name and address (so we can quote a total with shipping to you)
  • What part you want (yeah, it is already in the subject line, but let's be safe)
  • How many you want
  • How you intend to pay
  • A valid e-mail address to reply to you to
  • If you are ording a wiring harness kit, see that page for other details we will need to fill your order.

Send the message, and the seller will get back to you with a total, where to send the money and how to make payment.

Q. How can I pay for the parts?

A. We prefer PayPal because quite simply, it is very fast and easy.  You can transfer a payment to us instantly and this means we can ship to you without waiting for your payment first.   We can also however accept cash (USD$), money orders and checks via regular US Postal mail.  Be advised that personal checks will be held for 7-10 business days until the funds clear.

Q. Can you ship parts internationally?

A. In almost all cases, yes.  Some parts that are large and cumbersome may not be handled by international carriers or may be cost prohibitive to ship.  If you are at a non-US address, inquire about the part for international shipping availability.

Q. How do you ship?  What carrier do you use?

A. Parts are usually shipped by US Postal First Class/Priority or UPS Ground.  If you have a specific carrier choice, and or delivery time, please inquire about shipping and we'll be happy to give you the details.

Q. What if I don't have an e-mail application configured in the browser I am using to surf your site?

A.  Contact us with your order or inquiry at zaradmin@zarwerks.com.

Q.  How long will it take from the time I order to the time I receive my part?

A.  We strive to ship orders, once payment is received, in 5-7 business days.  But of course, we have "day jobs" too.  If there will be any delay in shipping your order, we will notify you by e-mail.  And of course restoration service turnaround times vary widely by the scope of the restoration, and the work already underway.  Typical in-transit shipment times via UPS Ground or USPS are 1-4 days.  International transit times vary widely.
